How to Afford Your Young Living Oils Essential Rewards Orders

I hear a lot of people saying that they can’t afford to order at least 50PV worth of oils each month to keep their Essential Rewards accounts active. I felt the same way at first, and now I have a hard time figuring out how to narrow my order to 300PV. It’s amazing how I was able to shift my mindset once I realized the value of the oils. If you feel like you can’t possibly fit the oils into your budget, here are a few ways to get started.

1. Grow your network! You earn $50 in bonuses for each new member who enrolls with the Premium Starter Kit. So by adding just two new members each month, you will earn $100 in commissions and essentially your 100PV order is paid for. Being the helpful and generous person you are, though, you are going to teach those two people how to enroll two people each month, and your network will grow even faster. You don’t have to be an expert to share the oils! Just tell people why you love them so much and how they are changing your life. You can also read the information directly from the Product Guide. And don’t forget to ask your enroller for help!

2. Transfer buying. Young Living has a full line of supplements, personal care products and household cleaners in addition to the oils. So take the money you would spend on these items at a grocery store and buy from YL instead. You may also choose to use the oils instead of toxic health and beauty products, and this will save you even more money. You can also give Young Living oils and products as gifts. You are “transferring” the money you would have spent on these things you would have spent money on anyway, and buying them from YL instead.

3. Place a group order. I normally don’t recommend ordering for others, but if your budget is tight, ask around and see if any of your family and friends have an oil or two they’d like to try. I do advise that you charge them the retail price, though!

4. Have a garage sale. Clean out your closets, and sell any clothing, shoes, electronics, furniture or other household items that are collecting dust. Put that money toward your oil fund.

5. Budget. Is there anything you are willing to give up in order to get your oils? Are there any areas of your budget that can be trimmed? Dining out one meal per week? Cigarettes? Trips to your favorite coffee shop?

Keep sharing the good news about the oils, and pretty soon you’ll be earning enough in commissions to cover your monthly Essential Rewards order and you’ll earn points to be redeemed for FREE products!

I Don’t Sell Oils

I cringe a little when somebody says that I sell Young Living Essential Oils. I don’t sell them. This isn’t a gimmick or semantics. I don’t sell oils. I don’t pass out catalogs and take orders. I don’t have oils in stock that you can buy from me. I order oils for my own personal use. I teach classes about essential oils, and if somebody is interested, I will help them sign up to purchase oils for themselves. But I don’t sell oils.

Confused? I’m sure you’re not alone. There is a lot of confusion about the differences between Network Marketing and Direct Sales companies. You read that right. They are not the same thing, despite the fact that the terms are often used interchangeably. To add to the confusion, most reputable companies belong to the Direct Selling Association.

45 Second Presentation That Will Change Your Life

According to Don Failla, author of The 45 Second Presentation That Will Change Your Life, Direct Sales is when you purchase the product directly from the salesperson/consultant (for example most door-to-door sales, Avon, Mary Kay, Tupperware). Network Marketing is different, because the focus is on sponsoring new people into the company and growing your organization. Distributors are product consumers, not sales people. Everybody orders their own products directly from the company. The distributor does not take orders or stock product for resale. adds that Network Marketing is better for creating long-term residual income.

The Network Marketing model is great because everybody orders for themselves. No keeping track of who-ordered-what, dealing with procrastinators who wait until the last minute to get their order to you, collecting payments or delivering orders. There isn’t any pressure to host parties that must earn a certain amount so you can get your bonus or free items. I especially like Young Living’s structure, because one of the requirements for advancing in rank is that you have to have a certain number of legs meeting a certain dollar amount (will go into specifics some other time), so it is impossible to advance in rank unless the people you have sponsored are succeeding as well. I personally know of  Young Living Distributors who are now a higher rank than the people who sponsored them, so everybody really has equal opportunity to grow their organization and earn money.

I also think the network marketing model is a good fit for Young Living, because it empowers you to be proactive as you take charge of your family’s health. Distributors have to plan and be prepared and make sure they have the oils they need on hand since they can’t count on just buying a bottle of oil from another local distributor. Not to say distributors don’t help each other out in time of need, but we don’t have stockpiles of oils on hand since that isn’t how network marketing works. Network Marketing also fits with Young Living’s vision, because they believe in adopting a total healthy lifestyle, not just buying individual bottles of oil here and there to eliminate certain symptoms. There is usually an underlying deficiency or system not functioning properly, and a lifestyle change is needed. Joining as a distributor and purchasing an Everyday Oils kit is making a commitment to your new healthy lifestyle.
